Lowest Saturday rise in new Covid cases in nearly two months

Some 2,667 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Saturday, according to official Ministry of Health data. That was the lowest figure seen for the first day of the weekend, when fewer tests are usually carried out, since Saturday October 3. At present there are 68,268 recorded active coronavirus cases.

To date nearly 519,000 people in the Czech Republic (population 10.7 million) are known to have contracted the virus, over 183,500 cases coming since the start of last month.
