Karlovy Vary seeks to transfer some Covid-19 patients to German hospitals
The Karlovy Vary region in west Bohemia wants to start negotiations about transporting some coronavirus patients needing intensive care to Germany. Such transfers must be approved by the Czech government.
Regional governor Petr Kulhánek said the Czech prime minister confirmed that the government has a framework for such cooperation when requested by the regional intensive care coordinator.
On Tuesday, the Karlovy Vary leadership also informed the neighbouring Bavarian districts about the situation asked for an estimate on how many Covid-19 patients they could potentially accept for treatment.
