Just over quarter of seniors in over 80 bracket have registered for inoculation

Over 143,100 people aged over 80 have so far registered for inoculation against Covid-19, according to the government’s special commissioner for IT, Vladimir Dzurilla, who is in charge of the registration system.

The majority of seniors registered on the first day that the system opened to them on Friday. The overall number of people aged over 80 in the country is 441,000.

So far 1,671 of those registered have received the vaccine. The first day of registered vaccinations was dogged by technical problems at some vaccination centres which had problems accessing the central register.

People who have a problem registering or need additional information can call the special helpline 1221.
