Ivan Bartoš confirmed as Pirate Party leader for 2021 elections

The current chairman of the Pirates, Ivan Bartoš, will also be leading the party in next year’s autumn elections into the Chamber of Deputies, members decided through an online referendum whose results were announced on Wednesday.

Around 50 percent of eligible voters took part and Mr. Bartoš received 530 out of 556 votes. He said he was deeply grateful for the trust invested in him and that he will strive not to let down the party. He said his main goal was to ensure a free future where the state and its citizens are not enemies, but a place where people can benefit from state support and help in their development.

Mr. Bartoš is currently involved in coalition negotiations with the Mayors and Independents ahead of the 2021 elections.
