Intelligence services warn of security risks in Dukovany tender

The tender documentation for the extension of the Dukovany nuclear power plant does not sufficiently take into account the security interests of the state, according to the findings of the  Czech National Institute for Cyber and Information Security and the ministries of the interior and foreign affairs.

The country’s intelligence services have previously warned that with companies from Russia and China the Czech Republic would be opening the door to political blackmail and recommended that they be excluded from participating in the open competition.

The power utility ČEZ, which is the main investor in the project, wants to announce a tender for the extension of the Dukovany plant by the end of this year.
