Incoming education minister Petr Gazdík meets with president Zeman

The candidate for minister of education in the new Czech government, Petr Gazdík, spoke with President Miloš Zeman on Thursday, as part of a series of meetings with incoming cabinet members being held by the head of state at his residence in Lány.

Speaking afterwards, Mr. Gazdík said the two had discussed the Covid-related problems faced by schools and his vision for the education sector for the next four years.

The senior member of the Mayors and Independents Party also said he and Mr. Zeman had agreed on most things. According to the president, his talks with incoming ministers should conclude in mid-December.
