Hygiene officers and police monitoring adherence to newly-imposed restrictions

Hygiene officers and the police have started monitoring adherence to the newly imposed Covid restrictions, primarily the ban on Christmas markets and the rule that pubs and restaurants must close by 10 pm. There is also a ban on eating and drinking in public and fast food stores in shopping malls can only operate in take-away mode.

The ban on Christmas markets has hit small entrepreneurs particularly hard and the online retailers Rohlik and Kosik have already offered to help them sell their goods online. The government this week approved a new set of compensation programs according to which entrepreneurs whose earnings drop by 50 percent and more will be eligible for higher compensation.
