Housing loan volume reached record CZK 379 billion in 2021
The volume of new mortgage loans for housing from banks and building societies reached CZK 379 billion last year, according to newly released data from the Czech Banking Association Hypomonitor.
This represents an increase of 70 percent on the previous year and a record high since statistics began being systematically monitored in 2014.
In total, including refinancing, banks granted 178,000 mortgages worth a record CZK 541 billion in 2021.
In December alone, banks and building societies provided mortgages worth CZK 44.3 billion, which is about CZK 2 billion less than in November.
