Hockey clubs express confidence in head of league as teams await verdict on unregistered players
Czech ice hockey clubs have expressed confidence in the head of the country’s elite league the Extraliga, Stanislav Šulc, at an extraordinary meeting in Prague. Representatives of 12 of the league’s 14 clubs gave their backing to Mr Šulc during a vote on Tuesday, while two abstained. Mr Šulc is due to issue a verdict on Friday after an investigation into the failure of three clubs to register players correctly. Plzeň, Mladá Boleslav and Kladno all stand to be docked points for games in which unregistered players performed for them.
