Hamáček for commission exploring mistakes ahead of second Covid wave

The head of the Czech Republic’s coronavirus task force, Interior Minister Jan Hamáček, says he strongly supports the creation of a Chamber of Deputies commission to investigate who made mistakes, and how, in the country’s preparations for the second wave of Covid-19. He made the comment in an interview for news outlet Seznam Zprávy.

The Czech Republic was one of the countries in Europe that registered relatively low numbers of coronavirus cases and deaths in the spring. However, during the current second wave it has recently seen some of the world’s highest per capita infection and death rates.
