Govt., union and industry leaders reject restrictions on unvaccinated workers

Representatives of the government, industry and trade unions rejected the possibility of imposing restrictions on unvaccinated workers following Wednesday’s meeting of the Council of Economic and Social Agreement. The council’s official Twitter account also reported that Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is against making vaccinations compulsory.

The question was discussed after the head of the country’s Central Crisis Staff, Vice-Premier Jan Hamáček, mentioned a proposal according to which workers without a vaccine certificate, negative test result, or confirmation of having recovered from COVID-19 would not be able to enter the workplace. The suggestion was criticised by both business and trade union leaders.
