Friday sees further rise in coronavirus cases
A total of 447 people tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus on Friday, close to 50 percent more than on the same day last week, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, the reproduction number rose slightly from 1.44 to 1.47.
The most seriously affected region in the Czech Republic is the Karlovy Vary Region in West Bohemia, where there is an average of 45 cases per 100,000 people in the population. Prague comes second with an average of 41 cases, followed by the South Bohemian Region with an average of 26 cases per 100,000.
