Football and ice hockey ultras to protest Covid restrictions

Czech football and ice hockey ultras from various clubs plan to come together on Prague’s Old Town Square on Sunday afternoon to protest against the government’s Covid-19 restrictions, Lidovky.cz reported. The hardcore fans plan to wear all black and not to sport their clubs’ colours during the demonstration, which would breach regulations introduced to halt the spread of coronavirus. The initiators of the action are supporters of Baník Ostrava football club.

In a statement one organiser said the government’s restrictions were nonsensical and followed a failure to prepare for a second wave of the virus.
