CzechTourism: Record number of Czechs stayed in domestic hotels in August

State agency CzechTourism says a record number of Czechs, some 848,400, stayed in domestic hotels in August. Compared to last year's second holiday month, this is an increase of 8.4 percent and compared to August 2019 an increase of 42 percent.

Hotels in the Czech Republic welcomed about 388,000 guests from abroad, in August, about a third more than last year, but 60 percent less than in 2019, when the coronavirus pandemic was not a factor.
