Czech Vaccinology Society: Shorten third jab interval from eight to six months

The interval between a second and third COVID-19 vaccine should be shortened from the current eight month waiting period to six months, the Czech Vaccinology Society stated on Thursday via its chairman, Roman Chlíbek.

The European Medicines Agency already approved the application of third vaccines for over 18-year-olds after six months on Monday. As of Thursday morning, the Czech Health Ministry has not yet issued a statement whether it will do the same.

Currently, people in the Czech Republic can receive a third coronavirus vaccine eight months after their second dose. Priority is currently given to pensioners and health workers, groups that were among the first to get vaccinated.
