Czech Post to lay off 1,500 people

The Czech Republic’s postal service plans to discontinue nearly 2,400 working positions from March. This will result in the laying off of around 1,500 people as not all the jobs are currently filled, a spokesperson for Czech Post said on Monday. The news site E15 said Prague would see the most redundancies.

State company Czech Post will offer retraining courses to those who are laid off. It employs close to 29,000 people.
