Czech police colonel Šárka Havránková not elected head of Interpol

Interpol Vice President for Europe Šárka Havránková has not been appointed the organization’s new president. At its General Assembly on Thursday, the international police organisation elected General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, inspector general of the UAE’s interior ministry, to the post.

Havránková, who holds the rank of colonel in the Czech Police Force, was the first Czech candidate to receive a nomination  for Interpol’s top post since the country joined the organisation in 1993.
