Czech cynologist: sniffer dogs over 90 pct effective in identifying Covid-19
Sniffer dogs correctly identify whether a person has coronavirus in over 90 percent of attempts, cynologist Gustav Hotový said during demonstration on Wednesday at the Trojská Primary School in Prague.
Together with the Search and Rescue Czech Republic team, Hotový has trained several dogs to identify Covid-19 samples belonging to an infected person. Dozens of schoolchildren took part in demonstration, providing samples for the dogs to sniff later.
Hotový said he has been working with samples provided by paramedics and is collaborating on research with the Thomayer Hospital in Prague, the Olomouc University Hospital and general practitioners.
