Czech Covid vaccine project to be shelved

The development of a Czech vaccine against Covid-19 will most likely be terminated after the first phase of tests on mice, Czech Radio reported on Thursday.

Health Minister Jan Blatný, has said that in view of the fact that commercial vaccines will soon be available on the market, there is no pressing need to take the project into a second phase involving clinical tests.

Although it showed promise, the development of the vaccine was earlier criticized for being too expensive for a country this size.
