Communist Party leadership voting on whether to withdraw support for ruling coalition
The leadership of the Communist Party is taking part in an online vote on whether to continue to support the minority government in office. The results of the vote should be announced late on Tuesday. Pressure is growing within the party for it to withdraw its support over the fact that the government has failed to fulfil the conditions of the deal made three years ago. Representatives of the Communists and the prime minister’s ANO party are expected to meet in the coming days to thrash out their differences. General elections are due to take place in the country in October.
