Christmas tree for Old Town Square donated by private owner

The Christmas tree for Prague has been felled and will be transported to old Town Square in the night hours from Monday to Tuesday, the ctk news agency reported.

The spruce is 18 metres tall and is from a private garden near Prague. The tree is between 35 and 40 years old and weighs 3.5 tons.

This year it will be decorated in the country’s national colours – red, white and blue – and will be lit on the first Advent weekend.
