Chief medical statistician expects daily rise of new cases to fall below 1,000 before mid-December

The number of people who test positive daily for the coronavirus should fall below 1,000 before mid-December, the director Institute of Health Information and Statistics, Ladislav Dušek told Czech Radio’s Radiozurnal station on Monday. He said he expects the national holiday on Tuesday will help curb the spread as it will limit human contact. The overall epidemic situation is also improving among the senior population in the country, Mr. Dušek said.
