Candidate for foreign minister outlines plans and priorities
The Social Democratic Party’s candidate for foreign minister, Jakub Kulhánek, met with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš on Thursday morning to present his plans and priorities in the post. The prime minister earlier indicated that Mr. Kulhánek is an acceptable candidate, saying that he has a good working relationship with him in his current position as deputy interior minister. Later today Mr. Kulhánek is to meet with President Miloš Zeman who will sound him out on foreign policy issues. Jakub Kulhánkek, who has previously served as deputy foreign minister, is to replace Tomáš Petříček, who was dismissed from office after making an unsuccessful bid for the party’s top post last weekend.
