Bodies moved as crematoriums exceed capacity in North Moravia

The capacity of crematoriums in North Moravia has been exceeded, while this situation is approaching in other parts of the country. Statistics regarding the capacity of crematoriums in individual regions will be produced by the end of the week, the head of the national coronavirus taskforce, Interior Minister Jan Hamáček, said on Wednesday.

Fifty corpses are being transported from Ostrava to a crematorium in Hustopeče, South Moravia, which is able to take them in.

Mr. Hamáček said more such transfers could take place as further crematoriums reached a point where they could no longer accept bodies. He said Prague had the most free capacity.
