Blanket testing in schools shows coronavirus cases not rising among schoolchildren
Results of blanket testing in Czech schools at the beginning of September showed that cases among schoolchildren are not rising, but rather slightly decreasing, Health Minister Adam Vojtěch said on Wednesday. The ministry therefore does not plan to initiate another series of tests. However, preventative screening tests may be repeated during the autumn period, Mr Vojtěch said.
A total of 3.2 million tests detected 438 positive coronavirus cases in Czech schools during three rounds of testing. Of these, 290 were detected in elementary schools and 148 in high schools.
