Babiš: Validity of Covid test results to be reduced as numbers rise
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš says that the validity of PCR tests as proof that one does not have Covid-19 will be cut in the Czech Republic from one week to 72 hours. Antigen tests will be valid for one day, instead of the three at present. The changes come in response to a recent marked rise in Covid infection numbers.
Mr. Babiš confirmed the change at the Prague hospital where he went for a Covid vaccine booster shot on Thursday.
The country’s chief public health office, Pavla Svrčinová, said that if the Covid situation got even worse the unvaccinated might be barred from some events.
