Avian flu reappears in South Bohemia
Veterinary workers have started culling birds at a commercial poultry farm in South Bohemia, where the bird flu was detected last week. Close to 5,000 birds may have to be put down. Strict hygiene measures are in place to prevent the spread of the highly contagious virus to other farms and private breeders in the region. Avian influenza reappeared in the Czech Republic several weeks ago after a year-long absence.
