Around 200 children in CR have Covid-related syndrome

Around 200 children in the Czech Republic are known to have multisystem inflammatory syndrome after contracting the coronavirus, the news site iRozhlas.cz reported on Thursday. In such cases the impact on the child’s immune system can lead to organs, including the heart, becoming inflamed.

The syndrome was first seen in the Czech Republic in the autumn, during the second wave of the epidemic.

At the start of this year the Czech Paediatric Society issued recommendations to doctors on how to recognise and treat the disease.
