14 senators hand over complaint over mandatory vaccination to Constitutional Court

A group of 14 Czech senators have signed and handed over a complaint to the Constitutional Court against a decree, issued by the previous government, that makes it mandatory for seniors and people from selected professions to get vaccinated. The group believes that the decree is in violation of the country’s Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. The current government has already stated that it plans to revise the decree.

The leader of the group, Senator Alena Dernerová of the Mayors and Independents, said that the complaint is not against vaccination per se. The complaint was sent last week and registered by the Constitutional Court on Wednesday.

According to the current decree, the groups in question need to get vaccinated by the end of February.
